Our Broker
Hello, my name is Dave Scott and I am the Broker of Record at Apartment
Rental Experts LLC (MA license #9054620). I hail from Atlanta, GA and moved
here in Fall 1993 to study English Literature at Boston University.
In 1996 after moving 4 times in 4 years, I figured why not become a rental
agent. What started as a good way to supplement my graduate student
stipend morphed into a strangely consuming passion. Eventually in April 2000,
I found myself working full time at a busy rental office on Mass. Ave.
called Apartment Rental Experts. Things were different there, the listings
better, paperwork tighter, and atmosphere more vibrant than what I was
used to. I liked it. I stayed.
The busy office soon became 2 with a second location in Davis Square, and
if you were looking to rent in Cambridge or Somerville it was hard not to
run into Apartment Rental Experts. So in Spring 2003 when the opportunity
arose to buy the business I jumped.
Since then I welcomed my long-time friend Jay Wylie as business partner
and co-owner. Jay’s years of experience with information systems, consulting,
and his work with start-ups bring a 21st century edge to the sort of
medieval and pretty much always chaotic world of apartment rentals.
I am lucky to work with someone whose values I share and whose ability I
respect as much as Jay’s. Together we hope to combine experience on the
ground with efficient data management in a way that you will find unique.
